ExSSA Minnesota Impact Day

The Arc’s Value Village is the Twin Cities best Thrift Store with a goal to provide a great shopping experience. At the end of each business day they give proceeds from their sales to the community. For more than 30 years thanks to shoppers, donors and volunteers, Arc’s Value Village has helped make life better for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

The Arc is a nonprofit organization. Last year the store generated more than $2 million for the Arc Greater Twin Cities’ programs that help adults and children with disabilities and our community.

After volunteering at Feed My Starving Children last year, Exssa-MN decided to volunteer at a different location to give back and support a different cause. On Saturday April 5,2014 ten of our members arrived at the Arc Value Thrift Store at 9am for a three hour shift. It was a rewarding and eye opening experience (we each made a pledge at the end of our shift to hence forth put back clothing and other items in store at the rightful place when we are done with them) There were shoppers and many other volunteers in the store during our 3 hour shift. The donations kept pouring into the back room. There were hundreds of boxes of clothing items, shoes, handbags and household items. In all the land of ten thousand lakes rocks! We are quick in giving back; individually and groups alike and we go all out!’
