ExSSA USA Anniversary
For the purpose of official communications, accurate records, and learning for newer members:
On August 3–5, 2001, independent groupings of Sakerettes convened in Dallas, Texas, with the intention of forming a single unified national body, ExβSaker Students Association, USA (ExSSA USA). This gathering in 2001 is recognized as the official birth of ExSSA USA.
The first official convention under the unified organization took place in Houston, Texas, in 2002.
Using 2002 as the first official convention year, the anniversary count follows a standard chronological progression:
* 2002: 1st Anniversary
* 2003: 2nd Anniversary
* …
* 2025: 24th Anniversary
* 2026: 25th Anniversary
Therefore, 2026 marks the 25th Annual National Convention, also known as the 25th Anniversary Convention.
There was no ExSSA USA national convention under the unified structure in 2001, that would alter this count. Prior to August 2001, the existing group; DC, Dallas, Houston, Georgia, and Minnesota, operated independently and did not constitute ExSSA USA.
The simplest illustration is the birthday analogy: A child born in 2001 does not turn one in 2001; their first birthday is in 2002. Likewise, ExSSA USA’s birth year is 2001, but its first anniversary is 2002.
Thus, the correct and accurate terminology is:
* 25th Annual National Convention
* 25th Anniversary (2001–2026)
ExSSA USA will officially be 25 years old on August 3, 2026.
Let the records be clear.
Thank you.
