Renovation of the Junior Washroom in Saker

Renovation of the Junior Washroom in Saker

ExSSA USA recently renovated the Junior Washroom, formerly the King House washroom. This is part of ExSSA USA's ongoing commitment to improving sanitation and health standards in our alma mater.Clean and functional washrooms are not a luxury. They are essential to student well-being. Poor sanitation affects school attendance, especially for girls, and directly impacts concentration, confidence, and academic performance. By creating a hygienic and dignified environment, we support health and enhance the conditions necessary for students to thrive academically. Other sanitation projects carried out by ExSSA USA in the past include distributing sanitary kits to students, renovating dormitories and washrooms, repairing structural damage, renovating the dining facility, increasing water flow by digging two boreholes and building water tanks, etc.

Dormitory Renovation

Dormitory Renovation

EXSSA-Georgia Fundraising Campaign. Renovation of Student Boarding Facilities (Dormitories) at Saker Baptist College. ExSSA-Georgia (ExSSA-GA), is a branch of the Ex-Saker Students Association Association (ExSSA-USA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose members are alumnae of Saker Baptist College (Saker) in Cameroon (Central Africa). Saker is an all-girls secondary and high school. Our mission as a non-profit organization is to Empower Young Girls by supporting various educational, recreational, and infrastructural initiatives at Saker.   ExSSA-USA through its ExSSA-GA and ExSSA-Washington DC-Metro branches continues to demonstrate its commitment to empower girls through the dormitory renovation project at Saker. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy living environment for the students. We are seeking your support to make this a reality. Like most of the buildings in Saker, these dormitories have been in use for more than 50 years and desperately need a make-over to cater to various needs of the girls. In addition to repairing cracked floors and broken windows, the renovated structure will have higher walls with secured doors and windows for security. Security threats are real, and expose the girls to rape by intruders. Pictured below are pictures of a dorm room before renovation by Sakerettes and a dorm room after renovation. Gender inequality is a goal worth pursuing. Our effort towards this goal is to empower these young girls by providing an environment that is conducive to learning, without health risks. Your generous donation will bring us closer to our goal and make a difference in the lives of so many young girls in Cameroon as they pursue their educational dreams. No contribution is too small.  All contributions made are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. All donations (100%) are applied to the project. The estimated financial projection is as follows: Financial scope of project: $60,000.00Funds raised: $15,000.00Funds needed for completion: $45,000.00 So far, contractors have been identified through a competitive bidding process. Our goal is to deliver a renovated dorm in July 2015, while the girls are on vacation.
